Amputee Football means different things to each individual person. At its heart it can be a liberating sport for escapism, self-expression and freedom. With it comes friendship, camaraderie, and competitive opportunity.

Amputee football is a disabled sport played with seven players on each team (six outfield players and one goalkeeper). Outfield players have lower extremity amputations, and goalkeepers have an upper extremity amputation.

The World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) is the sport governing body responsible for the administration of amputee football associations worldwide. It is responsible for the organization of the Men and Women's Amputee World Cup.
