Robert Wade Hammock (born May 13, 1977) is an American former professional baseball catcher and current coach for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for the Arizona Diamondbacks .

Oct 17, 2024 · Robby Hammock played six seasons in the major leagues, all with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He mostly played catcher, but also appeared in some games at third base and in the outfield. The Diamondbacks took him in the 23rd round in the 1998 amateur draft. He had attended South Cobb High School, DeKalb Junior College, and the University of Georgia.

Hammock, a catcher turned utility infielder and outfielder, was a September callup and saw his first action with the D-Backs since 2004. He appeared in only one game, on Sept. 28, when he got two at-bats and hit a double and scored a run.
