The Department of Fire and EMS has employees staffing several stations full-time. Services provided by the department include: advanced emergency medical health care, EMS training, fire suppression, fire investigations, hazardous materials coordination, and emergency management.

With approximately 5,500 EMS calls every year, there are currently four (4) Fire / EMS stations staffed by career medic / firefighters twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Presently, COFEMS has thirty-seven (37) career staff serving Orange County's 34,000 residents.
