"(I'm a) Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech" is the fight song of the Georgia Institute of Technology, better known as Georgia Tech. The composition is based on "Son of a Gambolier", composed by Charles Ives in 1895, the lyrics of which are based on an old English and Scottish drinking song of the same name. [ 3 ]

The Ramblin’ Reck is Georgia Tech’s one-of-a-kind mechanical mascot – a 1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe that truly embodies the spirit and character of both the Institute and the student body.

On June 15, 2007, the Ramblin’ Reck was severely damaged in a trailer accident that left the entire body severely disfigured and the roof smashed in. With only 85 days to restore the totaled Ford before Tech’s home opener, Ramblin’ Reck Club, Georgia Tech, and local businesses united to restore the Ramblin’ Reck.

From the world-famous “Ramblin’ Wreck” fight song to the fun and festivities of The Week of Welcome, the Tech campus is steeped in time-honored traditions that students embrace from generation to generation.
