Sep 21, 2022 · I chose Latin over English because it was more succinct and sounded better. “I will plant sunflowers here.” versus “Hic Helianthos Colam.” But I do agree with your reasoning. Not all mottos need to be Latin, my wife’s Arms use English “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” largely because it’s a direct line from Shakespeare.
