Bove previously issued a memo ordering federal prosecutors to investigate officials from sanctuary jurisdictions if they suspect interference with the deportation raids.

On Monday, Mayor Brandon Johnson received a letter from Washington, D.C. that states in summary that Chicago and other cities like it – notably Denver, New York and Boston – all of which hold sanctuary city status, are being investigated by the committee on oversight and government reform.

U.S. James Comer is asking sanctuary mayors to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform on their sanctuary city policies.

The mayors of those cities are being called to testify before Congress.
