Luigi Mangione released a statement Friday on a new website created by his attorneys. It comes ahead of his scheduled court appearance next week.

Luigi Mangione shared his first public statement since being charged with murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on a new website set up by his legal defense team on Friday, Feb. 14. He said he is 'overwhelmed' and 'grateful' for the support shown.

Last year, Luigi Mangione was arrested as the suspect in the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and has now addressed the support he has received in a statement. Brian Thompson was shot and killed after stepping out of a New York hotel on December 4 with video surveillance capturing the moment he was attacked.
