A huge top-10 NCAA women’s basketball battle goes down Sunday in Columbia, as the 4th-ranked defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks host Paige Bueckers and the No. 7 UConn Huskies.

UConn comes into the game with the No. 14 scoring offense, No. 3 scoring defense and No. 1 team field goal percentage in the country. South Carolina has the No. 5 field goal percentage defense, No. 12 scoring offense and No. 22 field goal percentage.

South Carolina and UConn have played 13 times since Staley became the Gamecocks’ head coach in 2008. Staley said this year’s UConn is similar to Huskies teams of the past, but freshman Sarah Strong aids their offense. Strong, the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2024, is second in scoring for the Huskies with 16.1 points per game.
