PS5 Passes 75 Million Units Sold; 9.5 Million Units Sold In Q4 2024
Between October and December 2024, Sony sold 9.5 million units. The PS5 Pro's release in November undoubtedly buoyed this, though Sony didn't give a breakdown. This brings the overall PS5 sales worldwide at 75 million units, and pushes Sony's gaming division up 37% compared to the same period last year.

Sony has sold over 74.9 million PlayStation 5 consoles since release
Sony released its Q3 2024 earnings report late in the evening of February 12, 2025. Within the Supplemental Information document, Sony recorded that PlayStation 5 sales reached 9.5 million for the quarter, 1.3 million year-over-year compared to Q3 2023. Sony’s Q2 FY24 had seen the PS5 sell 3.8 million units, so this is quite a large increase.

Sony just had its best holiday season ever in terms of PlayStation 5 console sales with 9.5 million sold over the last three months (2024 Q3), the company announced in its earnings release.
