The first of multiple storm systems hit our area Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, bringing with it more accumulating snow to parts of our area.

Goodman explained that as New York City rests on the northern fringe of this winter system, areas further south are more likely to see elevated snowfall amounts. As of Tuesday morning, Staten Island is forecast to receive 2 to 3 inches of accumulation from this storm, according to Goodman.

Within the five boroughs, the most snow fell in the Bronx, where 4.6 inches was measured in Fordham, according to the National Weather Service.

The five boroughs could see less snow accumulation if the powerful snowstorm blowing in from the Midwest transitions to a wintry mix of sleet and rain as midnight approaches.
