South Dakota Gov. Larry Rhoden announced that the state has reached an agreement with the federal government to host a fireworks display next year.

Fireworks are set to return to Mt. Rushmore next year for the country’s 250th birthday. Governor Rhoden says he and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum agreed on the show next year. A federal judge in 2021 halted additional fireworks shows at Mount Rushmore, and no more shows have occurred since.
