Alex Bregman and Garrett Crochet -- the two big offseason acquisitions of the Red Sox -- enjoyed solid debuts in Fort Myers on Sunday.

Garrett Crochet recorded four strikeouts in his Red Sox spring training debut, leaving the mound happy with his start.

The game also marked the Red Sox debut of infielder Alex Bregman. The former Astro had an impressive day himself with three hits and his first home run in a Boston uniform. He was quite impressed with what he saw from Crochet during his mound appearance.

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Garrett Crochet made his spring debut Sunday against the Blue Jays at JetBlue Park. The lefthander went 1 2/3 innings, throwing 27 pitches, three short of his 30-pitch limit. Crochet allowed three hits and walked a batter, but limited the damage with his dominant fastball, striking out four.

The Boston Red Sox’s fanbase, known as “Red Sox Nation,” has a reputation for being one of baseball’s best. Two of the Red Sox’s newcomers, pitcher Garrett Crochet and infielder Alex Bregman, were impressed by the fan support at spring training.
