Tempe police are investigating after the 13-year-old girl was found unresponsive by her grandmother and then later died at the hospital.
The girl’s mother, Jami Hodges, claimed to be unaware of the fall. Hodges was temporarily staying with Lujan, who was caring for four of Hodges’ five children. Hodges allegedly admitted to police to not seeing her 13-year-old daughter regularly while staying at her mother’s home.
