The Trump administration is terminating an immigration program​ that currently protects hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan migrants in the U.S. from deportation.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Monday moved to remove protection against deportation from hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans in the U.S., part of President Donald Trump's expanding immigration crackdown.

The U.S. Bishops have called the Trump administration’s decision to revoke temporary legal protections for Venezuelan immigrants “counterproductive to the administration’s stated goal of reducing strain on American communities.
