It is understood that a largescale row broke out between people who were on the ship after the body was discovered.

Gardaí are continuing to question a man in connection with the death of a woman on a ferry which docked at Rosslare Europort yesterday evening.

A woman has died following a serious incident at Rosslare Europort this evening. It's understood the woman was fatally injured during an incident on a ferry which arrived from Fishguard. The Stena Nordica sailing from Rosslare to the Welsh port has been cancelled this evening as a result.

Armed gardaí have responded to an incident on board a ferry that arrived at Rosslare, Co Wexford on Tuesday evening. Details remain unclear but several units are at the boat which is understood to be busy with passengers.

Gardaí are investigating what is described as "a serious incident" on board a Ferry which docked at Rosslare Europort. It is understood that a woman may have been fatally injured during the incident on the Stena Nordica but this has yet to be confirmed.

In a statement, Gardaí say there are no public safety issues at this time but a crime scene has been declared.

The Stena Nordica had travelled from Fishguard in Wales to Rosslare in Co Wexford earlier this evening and gardaí (Irish police) are currently at the scene.
