President Donald Trump said there will be “pain” in making America “great again” when he defended his decision to impose tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico and China in a Truth Social post on Sunday.

One day after signing executive orders to impose 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada, and 10% on Chinese items, President Donald Trump said there may be "some pain," yet the "results will be spectacular.

Canada, Mexico and China account for more than a third of the products brought into the United States. Tariffs could lead to higher prices for consumers.
