Tulsi Gabbard has cleared the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee in a 9-8 vote on Tuesday and will now move forward to a full Senate vote to become the next Director of National Intelligence.

The vote was 9 to 8, with all Republicans voting to advance Tulsi Gabbard's nomination and all Democrats voting against it.

The full Senate will vote on President Trump’s pick to be the director of national intelligence. She was one of the most contentious cabinet choices.

Gabbard, whose nomination appeared on shaky ground after her hearing, won over two crucial GOP votes in the eleventh hour.
