Ohio State football coach Ryan Day had praise for defensive coordinator Jim Knowles on Sunday. While speaking at the Buckeyes' championship celebration inside Ohio Stadium, Day gave Knowles a shoutout and mentioned the defense’s dominance throughout the College Football Playoff.

Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes celebrated their 34-23 national championship win against Notre Dame on Sunday at Ohio Stadium. While giving his speech, Day shouted out an assistant coach after a remarkable season. Day praised safeties coach Matt Guerrieri, calling the assistant one of the "brightest minds" in college football.

But it must be pointed out that Ryan Day made at least $11 million this year, and unless he is incredibly naive, that is unfortunately part of the deal. It's the same in the pros, maybe even more so.
