A Portsmouth man was sentenced to nearly five years in prison Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
Hillsville attorney Dwight Compton has been arrested and charged with felony strangulation and other charges in Grayson County after a Feb. 6 incident in Galax.
Ruben Valdez, 66, Oakwood, appeared on a charge of OVI, a third-degree felony. The case was continued along with a misdemeanor charge of no operator’s license and stop sign violations.
