Toronto forward Max Pacioretty has been ruled out for the Maple Leafs' game Monday night against the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning because of an upper-body injury.

Pacioretty will be absent due to an upper-body injury that he sustained after taking a shot to the side of the head in Saturday's 7-3 comeback win against the Montreal Canadiens. He was however able to finish the game, logging 10:13 in ice time.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that they have activated winger Max Pacioretty off of injured reserve, while also placing winger Matthew Knies on IR retroactive to January 22nd.

Crag Berube was forced to shuffle the Leafs' lines at practice ahead of Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Wild with the imminent return of Max Pacioretty.

Pacioretty is projected to return to the Maple Leafs' lineup against the Wild while Knies could be back on Saturday against Edmonton.
