JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A small commuter plane that crashed in western Alaska on its way to the hub community of Nome was located Friday on sea ice, and all 10 people on board were dead, authorities said. The crash was one of the deadliest in the state in the last 25 years.

The search continues Friday for a small plane that went missing in Alaska, with 10 people on board. The Bering Air flight was traveling from the village of Unalakleet to Nome when it was reported missing at around 4 p.m. local time Thursday, according to the Alaska Department of Public Safety, State Troopers.

The disappearance marks the third major incident in U.S. aviation in eight days. The Bering Air Caravan, a single-engine turboprop, was heading from Unalakleet to Nome.
