Acura has long been committed to an all-electric future, but as market dynamics shift, the Japanese automaker is reconsidering its roadmap. While fully electric vehicles (EVs) remain the end goal, Acura is now open to introducing hybrid models as a strategic bridge between traditional internal combustion engines (ICE) and an all-electric lineup.

The ZDX is still Acura’s short-term focus, alongside its second EV, the RSX crossover coupe. Unlike the ZDX, which is built on GM’s Ultium platform, the RSX will be the first EV underpinned by Honda’s in-house architecture.

Acura had planned to skip hybrids and go straight from gas to an all-electric lineup, but now it's allowing more flexibility.
