Celtics star Jaylen Brown felt like his team's lack of rest played a role in their blowout loss at the hands of the rival Lakers.

Following Thursday night's loss to the Lakers, Celtics guard Jaylen Brown revealed a cause of his recent struggles.

Jaylen Brown thought he was one of the NBA’s best defenders despite not earning an All-NBA Defense team selection last season.

“I’ve had to adjust, it’s a different year,” Brown told NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin following the win. “I just do what the team needs me to do. I’ve been able to evolve through different things in my career. This team, I’m more of a playmaker, so I just embrace it and get better in that role and do what I do.”

Scoring woes continue

The Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics met in Dallas on Saturday for their first matchup since last season's NBA Finals. Dallas was missing many key pieces, including starters Luka Doncic and Dereck Lively II, while Boston was wrapping up a four-game road trip.
