As this year's Royal Rumble draws near, Cody Rhodes will appear for an in-ring interview. Rhodes will defend his undisputed WWE championship against friend-turned-rival Kevin Owens in a ladder match at the Rumble, which takes place Feb. 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

This week's episode of Smackdown will now feature an exclusive interview with Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. Smackdown announcer, Joe Tessitore, announced the news Friday afternoon on WWE social media channels.

Cody Rhodes will speak on the January 24th episode of WWE SmackDown. In a tweet, WWE announced that Joe Tessitore would interview Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the show. Rhodes and Kevin Owens are set to have a contract signing at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event for their match at WWE Royal Rumble.

Cody Rhodes shared an interesting update ahead of the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown and suggested that members of his family were future champions.

As per a report by Fightful Select, Cody Rhodes was supposed to face Kevin Owens on WWE RAW in the post-show match. That was the match that was originally advertised for the show, but it was later changed in the night, Owens was replaced and he instead faced Carmelo Hayes. He defended his title against him successfully and sent the fans home happy.
