More than six months after the wreck that killed the Minnesota Vikings’ Khyree Jackson, a 23-year-old woman is in custody in connection with the fatal accident.

A woman was indicted Thursday in the July 6 car crash that killed Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson and two of his former high school teammates.

The Minnesota Vikings had the opportunity to earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs in the final game on the NFL’s 2024 regular-season schedule. But the Detroit Lions defeated the Vikings 31-9 on Jan. 5.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings also lost. That ensured 10 other former Alabama players — including Minkah Fitzpatrick, Najee Harris, Pat Surtain II, Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney — won’t be playing in Super Bowl LIX.

Alabama’s lone former quarterback in the NFL playoffs is Jalen Hurts, who is the starter for the No. 2 seed in the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles. Starting in 15 games, Hurts is completing 68.7% of his passes for 2,903 yards with an 18:5 TD:INT ratio, while also having rushed for 14 more scores.

Jackson was drafted with the 108th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was a fourth-round pick by Minnesota. Jackson was the eighth pick in the fourth round, the third overall by the Vikings. He joined a rookie class consisting of quarterback J.J. McCarthy and Dallas Turner, who were both selected in the first round.
