President Donald Trump’s executive order banning offshore wind projects has brought New Jersey’s first offshore wind project to a standstill.

New Jersey regulators have declined to award another offshore wind power project in the face of a federal permitting freeze.

New Jersey’s Board of Public Utilities, or BPU, on Monday said it would not award any new wind projects, the latest wallop to the state’s big plans for the renewable energy source since President Donald Trump took office last month.
