Honolulu’s mayor issued a proclamation declaring February as Black History Month for the City and County of Honolulu.

Google’s online calendar has removed default references for a handful of holidays and cultural events — with users noticing that mentions of Pride and Black History Month, as well as other observances,

Black History Month goes back nearly 100 years, and is celebrated in February in New Jersey with various events.

Also omitted is Indigenous Peoples Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and Holocaust Remembrance Day, according to social media users and product experts.

Black History Month and Holocaust Remembrance Day have also been removed, as Google calls its calendar process "unsustainable."

Google Calendar will no longer mark cultural celebrations like Black History Month, Women's History Month and Holocaust Remembrance Month. Google says it removed the holidays last year when it "standardized" its calendars to only include public holidays and national observances.
