Wyndham Clark hit a seven-under-par 64 to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the Phoenix Open. The 2023 US Open champion hit seven birdies in a bogey-free round at TPC Scottsdale. Fellow Americans Taylor Moore and Lee Hodges are tied for second on six under.

Clark saved par after hitting his tee shot into the water on the par-4 17th hole and shot a bogey-free 7-under 64 on Thursday to take a one-shot lead in the first round.

This week, the PGA Tour is in Arizona for a fan favorite: the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Following the first round of play, Wyndham Clark led the field alone at 7-under par. It is quite the contrast from how Clark’s game had looked as of late.
