One of the most significant PlayStation stories of the last couple years was the announcement that Naughty Dog had cancelled the long-awaited The Last of Us Online.

Former PlayStation exec Shuhei Yoshida played Naughty Dog's ill-fated The Last of Us Online and said "it was great".

One of the biggest bummers of this entire generation was the cancellation of The Last of Us Online, or Factions as it’s perhaps better known. Naughty Dog announced it was working on a standalone version of its popular The Last of Us multiplayer prior to the release of The Last of Us: Part 2.
