Day 2 at the 2025 PIAA Team Wrestling Championships is a more abbreviated one with an updated schedule that moves all rounds up to accommodate team travel in the face of potential inclement weather.

Now the fun begins for Faith Christian. The two-time defending PIAA Class 2A team wrestling tournament champion cruised into the state semifinals with a 65-4 victory Friday night over District 7 champion Burrell at Altoona Field House.

Just 24 days prior to Saturday, the Montoursville wrestling team traveled to Harrisburg to face No. 3 Bishop McDevitt, undefeated and ready to prove itself against one of the three private schools ranked ahead of it in the state.

Freddy Bachmann was in position to start off Saturday’s PIAA Class 2A team wrestling championship match with a victory. The Faith Christian freshman 114-pounder was leading Bishop McCort’s Eli Herring 7-1 in the final seconds of the third period.

There won't be a rematch of last year's semi-finals match in the PIAA Team Wrestling Championships between Chestnut Ridge and Bishop McCort. The Lions lost to Berks Catholic 51-11 in the quarterfinals,

The PIAA team wrestling championship in AA featured the top two ranked teams in the country as No. 2 Bishop McCort squared off with No. 1 Faith Christian at Altoona high school. The Lions came out fast and won the first two matches by pinfall to take a 12-0 lead.
