Gaza Hezbollah's former leader Hassan Nasrallah, killed in an Israeli air strike in September, is to be buried in Beirut's southern suburbs, a traditional heartland for the group, its secretary general announced.

Hezbollah announced the funeral of its longtime leader will take place on 23 February, five months after he was assassinated in a series of targetted Israeli airstrikes in a southern Beirut suburb.

Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem stated that Lebanon must address Israeli violations, which he described as acts of aggression rather than mere violations. In his speech, Qassem emphasized that "resistance is both a path and a choice" and that actions are taken based on careful assessment at the right time.
