President Donald Trump is pausing plans for 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada after separate meetings with the leaders of both nations. Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a social media post on Monday afternoon that the threatened tariffs had been paused for “at least” 30 days.

Newly imposed tariffs on Canadian and Chinese goods would cost American households about $690, the Yale Budget Lab estimates.
