On the Great Plains Nature Center's website, in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) section, it says: "Can I bring my pet to the park? No. We do not allow pets on the trails as Chisholm Creek Park is a designated Wichita Wild Habitat Area and is home to an abundance of wildlife which may be harmed or bothered by pets. Please help us keep our park clean and healthy for wildlife by keeping pets at home. There are multiple dog parks in the city available for use for free and most city parks allow leashed dogs. If you live near Chisholm Creek Park and need a resource near you North Chisholm Creek Park just off Woodlawn is a great option!" I was checking to see if I could take my dog. I certainly wouldn't violate their policy.

Within Chisholm Creek Park (the walking trails around the Nature Center) wheels are expressly prohibited. But the K96 Bike Path runs along 2 sides of the park. It would be easy to ride there, stop and walk through the area then ride on along the K96 path. You can find information about the K96 Bike Path at the Wichita.gov site - click the Live & Play link, from the menu that appears choose Bicycling in Wichita , on that page click the Maps link - K96 and Chisholm Creek Park are in the NE Quadrant map.
